Project description:
As part of an innovative project in the area of Instant Dynamic Data Integration (IDDI), a central platform for the possible exchange of data and business objects between different IT systems is being established. The aim is to implement a central Enterprise Service bus based on Apache Kafka to allow modern, asynchronous and possible data communication. The role of the Enterprise Architect is central to developing the complex IT landscape into a future-oriented, cloud-based architecture. The focus is on cloud technologies (in particular AWS), the development and implementation of integration architectures and the compliance of safety
- and compliance requirements.

Duration: to 31.12.2025
Utilization: full-time (80 PT, of which 5 PT on site)
Location: Remote, with single days of presence in Frankfurt am Main
Tasks:
- Collection of requirements and production of performance descriptions for the architecture to be designed
- Evaluation and selection of architectural designs taking into account strategic, technical and non-functional requirements
- Creation of architectural sketches, architectural concepts and presentations for an event streaming platform based on AWS services
- Planning and modelling of actual, objective
- and transition architectures (business, data, application
- and integration architecture)
- advice on the development of target architectures and implementation plans according to roadmaps
- Methodological advice on architectural issues and the derivation of operational objectives
- Support in the implementation and commissioning of the built IT architectures
- Documentation of the development process and preparation of documents for communication
Experience & knowledge:
Must-Have:
- Platform Architecture or Solution Architecture
- Cloud technologies such as AWS services, e.g. AWS Lambda, S3, EC2, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon DynamoDB / Amazon RDS, AWS CloudFormation / Terraform, etc.
- Event streaming platform / integration architecture as well as asynchronous and event-based data communication
- Apache Kafka as well as Kafka services and Spark on Linux environments and AWS features
- Understanding and awareness of IT security
- Monitoring
- and logging tools like AWS CloudWatch or Grafana
Should-Have:
- design of cloud-based data infrastructure (Amazon MSK) and their interfaces (e.g. IoT Core), microservices (e.g. Python)
- Testing and monitoring of data engineering pipelines with heterogeneous subsystems
- Experience with current and agile project management methods (also in large development environments) and tools including JIRA and Confluence
- Python / Java test framework such as Pytest, nose, unittest or DocTest. Knowledge of test automation in CI / CD pipelines, preferably with GitLab CI / CD
