Our client that is global leader in furniture industry is looking for a consultant to join their team. In this one, the consultant will work with the market support team, and more specifically shape up their work and help the team with right insights that are needed to track and create progress.
The everyday work of the consultant includes e.g. the following:
* Assist the client with Data Analysis and visualization for Affordability initiative.
* Ensure, promote and take full responsibility for informed decision-making based on data in order to improve business performance
* Conduct advanced data exploration and analysis using modern data mining techniques (including Machine Learning), visualisation tools, or a combination thereof, to provide insights that help co-workers and stakeholders make better decisions
* Evaluate the potential and usability of raw, unstructured internal and external data sources for use in product analytics and data-driven decision-making in general
* Write highly elaborate SQL queries that Extract, Transform and Load data from storage to an appropriate format, using joins, nesting and more advanced operations as an integral component of data processing pipelines, with cost and execution time efficiency at top of mind
* Lead and educate the organisation on agile ways of working in relation to advanced analytics (especially on topics like performance measurement and hypothesis testing by default to maximise key metrics and ensure that we realise the OKRs set by customer)
* Proactively manage relevant organisational processes, including meetings with relevant stakeholders and/or teams to drive an intended outcome
* Ensure that analytics solutions are built according to best practices by continually learning from and benchmarking against industry standards
* Engage in interviewing, coaching and mentoring of junior team members in order to secure transfer of competence and a high performing team
In order to be a great match, the consultant should find themselves in the following:
* Broad knowledge of data mining techniques, modern visualisation software, or relevant domain datasets and tools for analysing them
* Extensive knowledge of data pre-processing techniques (e.g. how to handle missing data)
* Extensive understanding of how to leverage large datasets to improve decision-making in a business setting
* Broad knowledge of relevant scripting languages (such as Python) and the role of notebook environments for sharing findings and code with others
* Broad knowledge of probability and statistics, including hypothesis testing using controlled experiments (e.g. A/B testing)
* Extensive knowledge of SQL and the role it plays in data analysis
* Broad knowledge of digital product development principles and the importance of rapid validated learning cycles to optimise performance long term
* Extensive knowledge of data processing for large datasets
* Experience with presenting to large audiences and senior stakeholders
* Familiarity with cloud computing environments, e.g. Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform
The consultant should have minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, (Junior) Data/Web Analyst or (Junior) Data Scientist.
Core buzzwords: Data analysis, GCP, Big Query, SQL, Power Bi and or other reporting tools.
