**Description:**
Background
Development Area Data and analysis are a strategic priority area for the Customs Agency. The purpose is to create conditions for increased data drive within the authority where we manage data as a strategic resource and use modern technologies such as AI/ML and BI to create value with data.
The development area currently consists of three delivery areas:
Data – governance and making available
BI – follow-up and analysis
AI – advanced analysis.
The development area supports all staff, departments, development
- and delivery areas with knowledge, skills and products in data
and the analysis area. Within the AI – Advanced analysis, an analytics platform is implemented for the agency’s more advanced analytical needs, and we also work with a number of AI abilities/assistants.
Mission
The Customs Agency aims to become more data-driven by making decisions and developing our working methods based on data and analysis. As a data engineer, you play a central role in driving that development with architecture, design, development and implementation to further develop our data management – primarily linked to our analytics platform and AI capabilities. We are looking for you who can work with the craftsmanship around our data management and take a role as senior advisor in the field.
In the role, you will design and develop data pipelines that collect data from different sources of transformation and modeling. You will also collect requirements and collaborate with other data and ML engineers as well as Data Scientists to build data solutions that meet business needs. By working closely with the needs owners and other delivery areas, you have the ability to understand the technical needs and challenges that exist to enable the Authority to become more data-driven. You also contribute innovation and innovation by monitoring and bringing to you what is happening in the industry.
The consultant will need to be classified under the assignment and the classification must be completed before the start of the assignment. This classification requires Swedish citizenship.
Competence level:**
**Data Engineer Level 3.**
Level 3
Knowledge – high expertise in the field
Experience – 4-8 years as a consultant in the field.
Management – taking responsibility for the sub-area, can lead a smaller group
Independence – can work independently
**Requirements:**
- At least six (6) years of documented experience as a computer engineer, over the past ten years
- at least five (5) years of documented experience in designing and implementing data flows/data pipelines
Documented programming experience in Python
Documented experience of SQL and data modeling
Documented experience working with APIs for data access
**Meritation:**
Experience in optimizing data flows
Experience in working with solution architecture for data flows
Experience with graph databases
Experience in the use of data quality and data integrity methods
Experience in container-based technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift
Experience in data management in public operations
Experience in Agile Development Methods

Start date: 2026-05-04
End date: 2027-04-30
Location: 100% on-site (completely or partially) in the Customs offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg or Luleå 1-3 days per week, other time can be delivered remotely but with the possibility of setting up in the Customs office with short notice (from the day before). In the first week, however, we want the consultant to be in place at the Customs office premises in Luleå and that the consultant will be able to travel to Luleå on 3 occasions per six months, at no extra cost to the Customs Agency. If the need for a presence is desired, this will be agreed with the consultant. No compensation is paid for travel.
Working time/Scope: 100%
Extension: possibility of 2 extensions in 12 months.

Agreement Terms:
The terms of the assignment will be based on Ework’s framework agreement with the customer. The offer shall be valid until 2026-04-10.
