For our client Volvo Cars we are looking for a DevOps Engineer - SCM & BA to Digital Core. **Context** At Volvo Cars, the key factors in building state-of-the-art cars are strategy, amazing people, and great tools. To achieve this, they have a group of product teams with a primary objective to support the in-car-software developers by creating, enhancing, and maintaining an extensive suite of digital solutions for best-in-class vehicle software development. The teams primary responsibility is to provide services such as Gerrit (a version control system) and Jenkins (build automation). These Java-based tools are widely used by several thousands of developers within Volvo Cars. The team is committed to making their users’ lives easier by continuously improving and automating the services provided. Volvo Cars is currently five devops engineers in the team who specialize in working with technologies and platforms such as Azure, Kubernetes, and FluxCD. Our client is looking for a ”thinker” rather than a ”doer”. A communicative teamplayer that can drive improvement, with a strong innovative drive. A person with the strong technical profile who can drive improvement work within the team. **How Volvo Cars works** * Work closely with the different stakeholder teams to better understand and facilitate their needs. * Improve key characteristics of the services offered, such as user experience, performance, scalability, resource utilization, supportability, maintainability, and observability. * Automate the management of the services under the team´s responsibility. * Implement a GitOps way of working together with the system team, who are responsible for the Kubernetes platform. * Provide self-service and documentation for end-users. * Volvo Cars is taking part of the shared cluster initiative to enhance and streamline Data Analysis of the data they produce. **You are** * outspoken and like to participate in brainstorming sessions. * a good listener and like to take initiatives to find new solutions to various technical or way of working needs. * curious, eager to learn and have an ability to think out of the box. * a true team player and excellent in communication and collaboration. * confident in working in Linux. * confident in working in Git. * have a good understanding of CI/CD. * experienced in scripting in Bash. * experienced with Kubernetes and Docker. **Meriting** * Azure Cloud and Azure managed services * Experience in GitOps and GitOps operators like Helm and Flux CD * Experience with Kubernetes * Experience in Gerrit * Experience in Jenkins * Good knowledge of high-availability applications * Python _Please note!
