Frontend Technical Architect

**Industry**: Engineering **Location**: 100% remote with occasional business trips **Project Language:** English **Contract Duration:** Approximately 3 months full-time, followed by up to 6 months part-time We are seeking an experienced **Frontend Technical Architect** specializing in Digital Commerce Development. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the migration of the Client’s global B2B Product Store from a legacy JSP storefront to a modern, headless React/Next.js storefront hosted in Azure. You will work collaboratively with backend architects, product owners, DevOps, UX, and QA while reporting to the Digital Commerce Development Manager. **Main Responsibilities** * Define a scalable and performable React/Next.js storefront architecture. * Propose and architect reusable micro frontends. * Analyse existing applications for reusable components. * Champion best practices for testing and define testing strategies. * Design a performance-testing strategy in collaboration with a performance engineer. * Address SSR challenges. * Architect solutions for multi-language, multi-brand, and multi-country storefronts. * Design deployment architecture in Azure. * Define CI/CD pipelines. * Establish coding standards and mentor frontend developers. **Key Requirements** * Over seven years of architectural experience (preferably in eCommerce). * Proficiency in React/Next.js, Node.js. * Understanding of BFF patterns and microfrontend architectures. * Experience with Azure services (App Services, Functions, CDN). * Proficient in testing frameworks like Jest and Cypress. * Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and SEO best practices. * TOGAF Certified. **Nice to Have** * SAP Commerce cloud headless migration experience. * Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert. * Frontend-Specific Certifications (e.g., OpenJS Node.js Application Developer). **Other Details** This position requires engagement for the duration of approximately 3 months full-time, followed by up to 6 months part-time, depending on the candidate's experience and rate. Candidates must work during the CET time zone from 09:00 - 17:30. The anticipated start date is mid-June 2025.
