UI Designer

We seek a skilled UI designer for a 6-month assignment. The ideal candidate will be experienced in establishing a digital design system, have a good understanding of front-end development, and expertise in digital accessibility. The UI designer will collaborate closely with designers, developers, and product owners to ensure consistent, accessible, and cohesive design solutions.

Responsibilities:

* Design system development and maintenance: Add to, update, and refine the design system to ensure scalability, accessibility, and visual consistency across platforms.
* UI design and visual craftsmanship: Produce visually engaging interfaces for web and mobile applications that align with user needs and accessibility standards.
* Digital accessibility compliance: Ensure all design work adheres to WCAG standards and the EU Directive on Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications.
* Collaboration with front-end development: Partner with front-end developers to ensure accurate and accessible implementation of designs, providing guidance on design standards and assets.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a UI designer with a portfolio showcasing design systems and accessible, user-centered designs.
* Proficiency in Figma.
* Solid understanding of design systems and their application across multiple platforms.
* Strong knowledge of WCAG standards and accessibility best practices.
* Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and the ability to work closely with developers.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Experience in agile development environments.
* Knowledge of responsive and adaptive design principles.
* Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
